Indonesia’s Ministry of Health is using the ECHO Model to address health disparities across the archipelago; especially in the eastern section – the most remote area, farthest away from the country’s specialized medical facilities.
Through ECHO, local hospitals are addressing the most urgent needs for their patients, including cancer and maternal child health.
Local clinicians are being trained in echocardiography, helping them spot heart problems right away and getting babies the urgent treatment they need. By expanding this skill across hospitals and health centers, ECHO sessions are bringing lifesaving expertise closer to families and giving more babies the chance to survive and thrive.
Watch this five-minute video featuring local hospital providers and administrators.
